Seems your life is still hectic... Mine is toooo; something in the water I guess...
You are a "Handler"; a sort of "broodmare", and among horse people that's regal status... The "Stallions" get all the press, but nobody messes with the "Broodmare", including "Stallions"...
I have recently developed some allys, and just in the nick of time... Jan 1, 2012 Kaiser kicked patients like my Dad over to the curb, saying, "no more free rides"... They say this while able to charge Medicare $15,000 per day for his hospital visits...
He and I have had long standing issues that can't be swept away by notions like forgiveness... Well, he had nowhere else to go, so I moved back to Fresno, letting others work my client list, and basically putting my practice on hold... And, 24/7, I watch him snore... From the looks of things, it won't be toooo long...
Hospice personnel say I am doing a great job taking care of him, and secretly I am indifferent ... I couldn't be here if it weren't for the Hospice folks... I don't waste my time playing "what if" and "if only"... I am taking the time to "Publish or Perish"; the mantra of all PhD's... Only this time I have a new level of deliberateness...
My Dad's prognosis is grim... He is showing evidence of shutting down... His Birthday is Saturday, so Sunday I'll have a small party here, I guess... All in all, I'm glad this happened; I'll look back on these days as if its "A Sabbatical from HELL" where we got know each at our very worst; get to know each other, none the less...
