New 9/11 thread for Jay

Posted by jane d on September 13, 2011, at 4:29:33

Since you seemed to be having technical difficulties starting a thread I thought I'd help you out. For future reference there's a "Start New Thread" button at the bottom of the Social index page.

> Hey, I posted the information *because* I very much care, and have just as much deep empathy about this horrid event as you do. Please don't assume you have a monopoly on what is and isn't relevant/important in this case. There was nothing that I posted that was ignorant or insensitive. Actually, I simply posted a few questions, and a link to the most popular documentary ever made. Many of the 9/11 victim's families feel their grief and questions (which are on record) around this tragedy have not been addressed. It would be heresy, and many feel in vain, to ignore that. I VERY strongly support Scott and any person or family who have had to live with a connection to this nightmare.

Jay, Nobody challenged what you posted. Just where. Nobody even said it was inappropriate for this board. You were just asked to allow that one thread to be personal. You don't HAVE to do that. It's just one of those things you SHOULD do. It's courtesy. It's a part of caring. It's also just practical. It's the best way to get your ideas heard instead of tuned out.

I probably share many of your political beliefs and that's not something I'm real happy about right now. I'd much prefer you were a far right conservative because, as it stands, you are discrediting beliefs and positions *I* care deeply about by interjecting them in the wrong place and then trying to beat people over the head with them and I really resent that.

Why not start over? Repost your link. Make your arguments. Here. Dare to risk posting your beliefs on a thread where people will actually feel free to challenge you - and then defend your beliefs if you can.
