what would you do in my shoes?

Posted by manduh on August 22, 2011, at 20:13:36

First a bit of background: After a year long med-go-round on various antidepressants, I was diagnosed (5wks ago) with bipolar 2. I started taking mood stabilizers 2 1/2 wks ago.
I spent 2 months on temporary disability leave, going to a day treatment program. Now My temporary disability has expired and I'm due to start back at work this week.
Now here's my issue:
Since I've only been on mood stabilizers for a few weeks I'm nowhere near stable right now.
I still have my bouts of crying and getting really irritable.
I would say the stress of my job really amplifies my anxiety, irritability, etc..I'm really unsure of my ability to do (or handle) my job.
So I'm not sure of what I should do. Do I try to go back, do I go back on temporary disability (I don't see my PNP until friday though), or do I attempt to get social security disability?
