We don't really foster but everyone in my family loves animals and has a real soft spot for them. If someone offers an animal we usually take it. We had this pitbull for like two weeks. The owner didn't want it and wasn't treating it well: he kept him chained up all day and wasn't feeding it right or looking after it. But this guy was 100% pitbull - he had yellow eyes and was big and looked scary like a lion. Now my aunt is scared to death of pitbulls. He wasn't like our pit-lab who was very loving and gentle. He barked at the cats and bit into everything he could get his paws on. But the real deal-breaker was that our pit-lab couldn't deal with another dog. She stopped eating and just generally was really upset. Sometimes he would bark at me - you know like challenging the pack leader - and SHE'd basically put him in his place. Then one day he started barking at my aunt as she got out of the car and that was pretty much it.

I miss him though :( He was fierce but so goofy and had a good heart. But our other dog made it pretty clear that we're a one-dog family.

C-PTSD: social phobia, major depression, dissociation.
Currently: 300mg amitriptyline, 200 mg sulpiride; single dose at night.
Also: Allegra, Actos 30mg, 1000mg Vitamin C, multivitamin.
Improving.
