Yes its very real.. But like i said the propensity for cruelty and accepting lies have been there way before the war. The blind obedience, too.
Of course what happened reinforced all this again. The fear is instilled.
For sure, since most people run from their past as fast as they can rather than face up to it, it gets inflicted upon innocent children and the cycle of abuse is complete once again. Its very sad..
