Hi fb,

Do you happen to have a link, or even just the name of the type of poles you bought? I am so interested because I have chronic foot problems that sometimes mess up balance and am just now starting to also have some knee aching and instability from damaged ACLs (both sides, unfortunately) that were never repaired). I love walking and hiking and have been so frustrated the past few years when the pain in my feet(and other discomfort that comes with being overweight) just stops me cold. Vicious cycle - you need an accessible, cheap exercise to help lose the weight, yet each time you begin, you aggravate conditions that stop you from exercising at all....more sedentary time resting the body, burn less calories than before.....blah, blah. I hate it.

I know walking poles won't stop foot pain, but there is no telling how they might change posture, gait, weight distribution etc. and so the whole act of walking *could* become more comfortable. Right now it is almost dreaded :-(

You hike sounds great :-) - 10der
