Talking to one's self - normal or crazy?

Posted by Deneb on June 29, 2010, at 1:58:24

I talk to myself a lot. Often it is whispering under my breath, sometimes it is talking in a normal tone. My Dad caught me the other day.

I repeat things a lot. I would repeat some of the things I say several times. For a few hours I decided to write down everything I said to myself. Here is what I said:

"talk to myself", "talk to myself", "talk to myself" repeatedly

"stop talking to myself!"

"I talk to myself a lot"

"can't think of what I say"

"I don't really notice it"

"because I'm getting fat"

"no, I don't hear voices"

"cans and bottles"

"I want to eat food"

"Hmmmmm"

"Bob"

"spaghetti and meatball"

"gotta go"

"iced coffee, homestyle bun"

"Hmmmmm"

"getting fat"

"Dr. Bob, I love you Dr. Bob"

"I don't want to talk to you"

Those are some examples of the types of things I say to myself.

Is this normal? or Crazy?

Does anyone else do this? If so, what do you say out loud?
