My lovely garden

Posted by fayeroe on July 6, 2009, at 11:47:41

is dying due to the 100+ days we are having.

The first to go are the tomatoes..the banana trees look like they may be next.

Cosmos are long gone.

The "reolas" are hanging tight, some wilt and I water again..

...the only morning glories doing well are on Fayeroe's blanket garden and those that I planted in containers and are in the shade.

The petunias on Faye's garden are long gone and so are the marigolds.

The cucumbers succumbed to the hot days this weekend.

The plants I've seen all over the Caribbean and Mexico are fighters. I can't remember the name. Bright purple, white, peach and red blooms? Not hisbiscus. They died.

ASPARAGUS FERN LIVES. Thank goodness for their little sturdy hearts.

The elephant ears are getting scary. I'm trying to hang on to them. I dug them out of a creek bank by my house.

All in all, I'm losing the battle. :-(
