I tried topomax but it worsened my depression (of course I wasn't on an AD at the time....)
Trileptal gave me headaches- although gabapentin is too right now!
Argh- so frustrating isn't it? I actually had a better day today- wish my headache would go away and I could type better but hey, can't complain in comparison to yesterday.....
I think I probably need to use an AD WITH a mood stabilizer (even if it is gabapentin). Unfortuantely we are doing one thing at a time to know what each med will do for me- However, that may be a problem since the mood stabilizers don't really help the depression..... Could be that I just needed to use an AD with the topomax- but instead the topomax was dropped. At this point, I would like to see what will happen with the gabapentin- will the helpful effects remain wtihout the side effects? IF so then GREAT!- if not then I want to try combinging with an AD. What do you think? Why does Trileptal cause headaches and how do you counter them? I would be interested in trying it again! Is it good for depression? I finally realized this must be a rapid cycling mixed bipolar ll disorder- does that exist? I think I cycle from mixed to depressed...... no breaks or normal for several years! Ok, enough rambling for now- ttyl
