Hi Cass,
I'm sorry you're going through so much heaviness right now. It's nice when the mood lifts a bit, isn't it?

I did have a couple of mystical transcendant experiences. In one, I met the creator, and he (yes, it did seem like a "he", although he wasn't visible) showed me all of creation. It looked like a giant fractal design, with incredible beauty and detail, and it was all growing and changing at the edges. I silently asked "why" and he let me experience the love driving it. Pretty awesome! Ok, some hallucinogens were involved, but it really didn't detract from the experience for me. I still believe creation is huge and awesome and driven by the creator's love.

There were no psychotropic substances involved in the second one. I was swimming laps, and something happened. The bottom of the pool seemed to drop out, so that I was swimming in some kind of infinite space. My mind went silent. I stayed in this state for about an hour, through showering, getting dressed, going through McDonald's drive-thru for lunch, and walking back into work. I functioned, and even talked to the McDonald's employee, all without my internal chatter. I was really in tune with nature, and horrified by the transition from the natural, weedy landscape, full of plants and insects, into the landscaped moncoulture of my office complex. I wanted to cry because the lush green grass seemed so dead compared to the weedy lot outside. The state wore off as the workday went on.

I hope you get your transcendant mystical experience soon.
