I'll try to explain it. I asked them at the end of the interview if there was anything they thought I was lacking to do the job, and they said while my design skills were exceptional, they were looking for someone with more production experience, which is funny because I have way more production experience than design. Of course I tried to explain this, but they seemed to already have their minds made up.
The questions they asked over and over were about how I would handle certain situations when multiple jobs were going on and I was interrupted to handle something else. I told them I made lots of lists and charts to keep track of all jobs I was working on, so that I could look at them and see where I was supposed to be in my work at any given time. While in the past this same explanation has brought positive replies from the interviewers, these people seemed to think it said I was rigid and wouldn't deal with interruptions well. I did the best I could explaining, but sometimes people just decide something and stick with it.
Another problem I had was my mind kept going blank when I was trying to answer questions. This is always a problem for me, and usually gets worse during stressful situations, but this time I felt I didn't handle it as well as I usually do. I've read this is an ADD symptom, and when I was on meds for it, it seemed to get better. My brother has the same problem and so does my Mom. We all have multiple ADD symptoms.
So anyway, these are some of the reasons I felt they probably aren't interested in me. They were very, very nice though, and did seem to think I had many good attributes. Sometimes interviews just don't go your way. I'm not going to dwell over it, it just happens sometimes.
