It is crime that your p-doc handled it that way. You can borrow mine. He insists if I can't pay he will see me for free and I feel bad. And I don't go. But then I don't need a note for work. Hm I wonder if I could get you one.
There are good p-docs around though. But I know that doesn't help you. If I was Poet I would give yours a cyberslap. Yours deserves it and sounds like your boss does too.

I know it is hard not to get down. I have been a bed potatoe for two days. I do have a hurt neck but still I am down.
