I'm not sure about the tv thing, but ADDer's have the ability to hyperfocus on one thing for a long time. Like today, I hyper focused on a project that was due. I totally lost track of time, but I got it done, and wasn't distracted by anything around me.
Man, my focus is totally gone now... sorry for the ramblishness
