I don't know what that spindle thing is either, but it sure is pretty! I mean, seriously, I'd totally hang that on my wall!

As far as surviving Christmas... well, first off I had to tell my sister I couldn't spend the night on Xmas Eve because I didn't want to leave my cat alone. I have spent Xmas with them ever since my nephew was born (he's 9). I always get his Santa Claus presents because they don't have much money, so I like to be there to see him open them all. I knew my nephew would understand why I couldn't spend the night, but my sister still tried to give me a guilt trip about how disappointed he would be anyway. I told her I would come over the day before Xmas Eve and give him his presents from me, and we could sneak the others in, then I would come back xmas morning. She finally accepted that.

So the day came and I woke up throwing up. I kept trying to get ready to go, but in the end I just couldn't do it. I called my sister to tell her and said I'd try to come the next day (xmas eve). Of course her reaction was, "C___'s going to be so disappointed! He's been waiting on you!" I tried to say I was too busy trying not to throw up on the phone to think about all that and she said, "What are we supposed to do if you don't show up tomorrow?! C___ won't have a Christmas!" I again said I was too sick to think right then and I would call her the following day. She said, in a snotty voice, "How'd you get so sick all of a sudden anyway???" I finally just yelled, "Just tell him I'll be there tomorrow!"

So I drove over the next day (1 hour each way BTW) with my little puke bag beside me in the car, and managed not to throw up until I got home later. My nephew was really sweet about my kitty and about his presents. I told him I'd come over the next morning and see all his presents from Santa.

Xmas day went very well, I went to my sister's and looked at all C___'s toys, then I took everyone to my mom's for dinner (they don't have a car). That actually went well too! First time a gathering of all of us has gone well in a lo-n-ng time.

Everything went well until New Yr's Eve when I got sick AGAIN! Today's actually the first day I've felt completely well.

So that's my sorry tale. Actually, sickness aside, it wasn't too bad. I love seeing my nephew and how excited he is about it all. I taught him to play Clue, which went a long way in keeping the peace at my mom's (everyone usually fights, which causes him to act up, which causes everyone to fight about him acting up and what to do about it). But I guess the main thing is, I survived!!! And I'm not throwing up anymore! And Kitty is happy and bouncing around everywhere like a psycho kitty! And I'm not throwing up anymore! Yea!!!!
