I love it! Dr Goodall is a great choice :-)

I've been talking lately about wanting to play some kind of anthropologist's role as far as my family is concerned - observing their interactive behaviours, but not engaging in them. Right, like that would happen! I'm afraid that I'll get sucked up into their monkey society antics as usual. But perhaps if I picture myself as wearing a pith helmet and hiking boots, I can maintain the objective role a bit longer. And I can take my camp notes at night, under the blanket, with a flashlight.

Ah, what a stroke of genius! ClearSkies as the Observer of the Crazy Family at Christmas. I think I might like this one.

I'll have to give Don Rickles a pass - sometimes he can be kind of mean. Jasper Fforde I could picture as hovering by the front door, ready to offer to make any last minute runs to the store (and so escape the company). Jon Stewart I could see cornered by one or the other of my sisters in law, looking panicked.

Thanks!
