That's no fun at all! It's happened to me more times than I can count- and I do think it helps to go back to the barn and be physically close to your horse (grooming), to avoid becoming afraid. In the past, I've done jumping, but now I just do dressage, At first, it seemed so boring - just going around and around in circles, but now that I know more, it is fascinating. We are always working on getting the horse stronger, as well as very light in the front- and also helping him develop his gaits so they are the most beautiiful they can be. This Sunday, I'm going to do the first musical freestyle I've ever done in a show. The music is modern
Spanish flamenco- very lively. He knows it's "his" music, and perks right up when he hears it.A footnote- since starting dressage- no falls!
