Another Texan, Jim Hightower, has become one of my fav authors as of late. Have you ever read or seen him?
Sorry about the 'squites, as I can relate. Here in Canada they are very active in June-July. In August, they seem to lay off a bit, but I still think they are pure evil. We also have 'blackflies' (No...not of the Conrad type...lol) in May-June. So, that becomes a double shot of evil..and takes away from camping that time of year. I seem to enjoy hotel rooms more as I get..ollllddderrr. Heh.
