The headaches haven't been this bad since I first hit puberty. Clearly my hormones are playing bumper cars again. And the pdoc said that cymbalta could be triggering the migraines, so I'm switching to Prozac as soon as I crawl out to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription.

My mom's migraines send her to the ER for a shot of demerol about once a year or so. I'm alone at the moment and last night wasn't feeling well enough to drive myself anywhere.

Last night I took more Feverfew (helped a bit), used cold compresses, then hot compresses, took a xanax and ibuprofen, and went to bed.
The migraine is still here this morning, but not as severe. I'm thinking that wearing a crash helmet might feel good today.

An allergist has ruled out whether I'm actually allergic to anything (I'm not). But I have vasomotor rhinitis, where environmental factors like bright lights, barometric changes, and other stupid everyday things trigger allergic-type reactions. These same triggers induce migraines for me (I've known this for a long time). Kind of a double-whammy.

I see my GP today. I printed out a list of neurologists that are on my insurance. I'll ask him for a referral to one. I haven't seen a neurologist since my migraines were first diagnosed, um, 32 years ago.

Thanks, everyone, for all your concerned responses. Sorry about my gross descriptions of the pain.
