Oh Poet, I'm so happy you did well. I know what you mean about hearing that line, but the thing is, it will eventually be you they call that Friday to offer the job. Its just a matter of time.

I also know what you mean about toxic people in the work place. I've had more than my share. But I've found learning how to deal with them and not letting their negative energy get to you can go a long way. My last 3 jobs had horrible horrible people who made my life hell. Even in retrospect I can see these were way worse than your average difficult person.

When I got my recent job I also had a very, very difficult person who resented me from the get go, and she was supposed to train me. But I feel from my previous experiences I handled it pretty well. Each time it gets a little easier. I'm in no way saying anything about your situation, I don't know anything about it. I just thought I would share my experience since it seems to be inproving.

I'm sure there are lots of books on the subject, but one I bought (3 jobs and nine years ago!) is called "Dealing with People You Can't Stand: How to Bring Out the Best in People at Their Worst" I found it too in dept to use all the advice, but just reading it helped me to understand that how you handle a difficult person can change the outcome. There are ways to diffuse a situation, and once you know you've tried them all, you can rest assured its simply an unreasonable person. I found it very enlightening. Anyway, just a thought since you've experienced it too.
