My husband nearly choked on his breakfast when he heard the father -- was that Ray Irwin? Ron Irwin? Wish I could remember -- say they didn't want a State funeral, beause Steve Irwin was "an ordinary bloke." (Or was it a "regular bloke?") He said, "Only in Oz would someone want to be remembered as a regular bloke, and not a celebrity!"
Then again, when my mother asked him why he moved here, he told her he just hated having to wrestle crocodiles, which was required over there. Mr X isn't quite such a bloke. Doesn't even like ME watching football -- although in fairness, he doesn't think American football is a proper sport.
