Severe congenital hydrocephalus. Prognosis is mixed. One vet says there's a poor prognosis. My regular vet seems to think there's hope with a shunt.
It's so weird. I've been looking it up, and she should have had symptoms since puppyhood. She didn't. She should have seizured. She didn't. She should have had cognitive difficulties and been hard to housebreak. On the contrary, she may not be a genius, but she's quite clever.
It's odd.
I've gotten this doctor's opinion about what drugs to use to make her life better, and that the prognosis is poor. And that shunts are not only expensive but have a high failure rate. Now I need to talk to my regular vet.
