I always thought this was a joke, but I guess there's some truth to it:

Q: Why do ducks have webbed feet?
A: To stamp out forest fires.

I mean, if your house was on fire, you'd want to put it out too, right? Hmmm ... but it still doesn't explain the follow up to that:

Q: Why do elephants have flat feet?
A: To stamp out burning ducks.

I guess I'll have to think a bit more about that one.
