Hi Falls,
I ate Eis everyday! sometimes we went to the Eiscafe (the ice-cream parlor), and one of my friends is a true Eis-addict. He gets this sparkle in his eyes and asked us at least once a day if we wanted an Eis.his personal favorite combination is a combination of coffee, chocolate and chocolate chip flavored ice creams (german ice creams, which are similar to american ice creams) and shaved chocolate curls, a little whipped cream (Schlagsahne) and crunchy toffee bits. on top, about a tablespoon or so of Bailey's cream liquer. not a humongous American-sized sundae, but very decadent!
The Eiscafes in Germany are mostly run by Italians, who make their own homemade gelato. Often it's possible to g!et 25 different flavors. delicious!! I got an amaretto sundae, which had vanilla, cappuccino, chocolate and amaretto gelato. crunchy bits of crushed almond cookies, some amaretto liquer, and whipped cream on top. WOW!
its 8 am, and I've got the Eis craving already!
