I guess I'll just have to deal with the fact that I can no longer get excited about things that used to be exciting.
My most recent example: my colleagues and I have been working on a research study for 3.5 years. We have been writing a paper for publication, and it has taken 1.5 years to do all the analyses and research and get feedback on some 50 drafts. Recently we submitted the paper to the publisher for formal review. This should be a huge relief. So much stress to work on this paper with difficult colleagues. Now it's out of our hands. And it's a good paper.
I don't feel ANYTHING. no joy, no happy, no relief, nothing. Feel like I still have way too much stuff to do. Still feel super stressed out.
Oh well.
