<Oh, actually don't think 'they' were called 'nerds' until the computer age. Can't remember what they were called. I think they were just 'never called'!>

Okay. I think I owe you an explanation.

When I said "I think they were just 'never called' ... it was an error in judgement to stop the sentence there.

The following explains 'how it all went down':

I'd first written ... Oh, actually don't think 'they' were called 'nerds' until the computer age. Can't remember what they were called. I think they were just 'never called' anything in particular. The word 'nerd' wasn't around then.

(I was thinking someone would respond and jog my memory and tell me what the smart people in school were called then. All I could think of was something as silly as 'bookworm', but that wasn't it .. I know there was another word .. it's on the tip of my embarrassed tongue!)

But back to the sentence. I deleted 'anything in particular' to write something different. As I started to re-read the sentence and end it differently, ... it struck me as 'funny' to end it right there, and that was MY BIG MISTAKE! I thought it was funny and it wasn't!? :C

I love nerds. I wish I was one. I really, really wish I had married one, or more! One of my children is one and I wish I was him, if he was a girl that is.

I'm sorry.
