> We do forget that not everyone celebrates Memorial Day with us.... For us in the USA, Memorial Day is a patriotic holiday where we honor our service women and men.
I will face Arlington, and offer a moment of silence, in their honour.
We honour our fallen on November 11, Remembrance Day. Symbolized by a poppy, which virtually everyone wears on their lapel, or on the breast. "On Flander's fields....."
> The spirit of the holiday, however, is that it is the official start to the summer season.
We're so darn eager, once the igloos have melted, that we have our kick-off the third monday in May, Victoria Day. It was friggin' a high of 8 (46 F.) that day, in Toronto. A week later, and it's 28 (83). Argghhh. No Babble picnic. Not this year.
