Hey, I'm not quite half-Finnish, but I've got a big chunk of it in me from my maternal grandfather's side. I knew there was a reason I liked you. :)
Grandpa was from way up north in the upper peninsula of Michigan, the copper country. I'm not sure if my great-grandparents were immigrants or first generation Americans. I think the former, though.
Mmmmm, I'm starting to crave pasties. Haven't had a good one for awhile.

Oh, and PS: When my pdoc learned of my Finnish heritage, she recommended light therapy as an adjunct. Apparently there is a higher incidence of SAD related depression in Finns due to the lower light level up there. There is a hypothesis that this tendency might be passed on. (shrugs). Light therapy doesn't hurt me, and I do think it helps.
