I second Curt's vote for Animal House.
Fun: The Blues Brothers and Caddyshack.
Semi-dark, but quirky: Fargo and American Beauty.
Have you ever seen Enchanted April? It's a wonderful film about four women who go on holiday together in Italy. It's romantic, clever and the photography is gorgeous.
