Today I had the pleasure of watching the first day of The Sultans Elephant being performed in London (http://www.thesultanselephant.com/).
Its very hard to explain, but its a French theatrical group, using HUGE wooden puppets, and mechanics, aswell as people.. It is being performed on and around the streets of London for three days starting today. There is an enormous wooden mechanical elephant, with a house built into it, and a 13foot wooden puppet of a girl, who arrives out of a time travelling space ship that landed just off The Mall.
To say it was spectacular would be an understatement.. But I, ofcourse, took photos, and so thought I would share them.. My two favourites are the close up of the girls face, and the one of the elephant lying down with the London Eye in the background..
