South Dakota. Sculptor needed right height of mountains, a large expanse, good light and a certain quality of granite to carve....

....and that is NOT even a good [quality] photo. I have taken many myself and they just don't come out badly on any halfway clear day. My amateur stuff looks professional, the monument is so incredibly photogenic....
one of my fav subjects...now curt's gone and got me started.... ;-)
