> OMG, are you me? I have slipped on the carpet on the stairs and fallen down. My husband says to wear shoes, but I hate shoes. I say take the carpet up on the stairs and leave the hardwood. He thinks that will be worse, but the carpet is so worn, I'm not sure my feet can tell if they miss the step a bit. Whereas with hardwood, I think my feet would benefit from that additional sensory input.

I completely agree. I think the best solution is hardwood with no socks. Hardwood with socks = disaster. Carpet with socks = four falls and two trips to the ER. Carpet with no socks = well, nevermind. No matter how you look at it, I have no balance, coordination, or ability to sense the end of the stairs.

> And my husband does the same thing with his socks!!!!! And you're right, it's just WRONG! I do what you do. At least I've trained him to put my socks the way I like. He can do whatever with his socks. Silly man.

D has me trained to fold his socks the way he likes. He just throws mine in a pile for the dog to find. :(

You're right. I'm not a fan of the foot. Therefore, it needs to be covered properly and fashionably. :)
