actually I remember reading "Kaplan and Saddock's a brief synopsis of psychiatry" (i'm pretty sure that is it but amazon doesn't like it) and they said that in a psych interview one isn't supposed to ask:
'do you masturbate'
because people tend to deny it.
rather one is best off to ask:
'how often do you masturbate'
because then people tend to tell you.
lol.
my understanding is that it is more unusual not to do it...
but then psych meds have an impact etc.
