I would try giving him something soft, sweet and liquidy like fruit flavoured yogurt, it's easy to lick off and swallow, provides energy and hydration. If Perkins doesn't even eat that, then it doesn't look good. If he doesn't eat or drink, there's nothing much we can do for him.
If he's been like that for a couple of days now and you feel in your heart that he is suffering, take him to be put down. It's a small price to pay to stop pain and suffering. But...only do that if and only if you are ready and sure of your decision. It will be a painful one to have to make.
