---If you mean, you are upset right this second, first breathe in and out slow and deep. In through the nose to the belly, then out the mouth, belly first to empty then chest. repeat several times.

As for the hurt and anxiety that won't always go away immediately, think of the good things people have said to you lately. Say in your mind, "Who cares what so and so thinks".

Later, without adrenaline in system, you can calmly go over whatever was said, and logically pick it apart. Is this true? does it apply? did it need to be said? but save the logic until you are over the upset.

Give yourself a time limit to be mad, fret, hurt, etc. then say times up, moving on.

Try. I try and sometimes fail but I think it is good advice nonetheless.
