Thanks for all yourpositive comments *s* I don't have an artistic bone in my body, and am just learning the art of photography, but am really enjoying it.. and remember, the 40 pics I posted were the best of about 250 taken *L*

This morning we went to the Lost Gardens of Heligan.. http://www.heligan.com/flash_index.html
Now these are completely amazing and blew me away... the most stupendous gardens, mainly built in the late 1800's.. but then left to wrack and ruin, before being rediscovered and are now being put back to how they were originally.. totally amazing.. (and Delilah.. about 60% of it is now handicapped accesible.. they do special armchair tours which looked wonderful) Weather wise, we started with torrential downpours, then had beautiful sunshine, then gale force winds, then rain, then hail, then sun, then rain.. *L*
I again took a ton of photos, but they will have to wait..

We then journeyed down to St Ives.. a wonderful, arty town on steep cliffs (and don't my lungs know it *L*), and to our new B&B.. A completely organic, green B&B.. our bed is made from wood reclaimed from the beach.. our bathroom has wonderful organic toiletries.. the cakes and bread are all home made.. Its heaven!

the first couple of hours were spent drinking tea and chatting with the B&B owner. A guy who could easily b eon eof our mates, and who we instantly hit it off with.. We asked for dinner reccomendations and he suggested a bistro near the beach..

We wandered off, and easily found it. Walked in to be told they were closing early as they had little custom. Luckily, as we were about to leave, the chef changed his mind.

I think what followed was one of my favourite meals of my life.. My menu was..

Seared scallops with creme fraicsh and sweet chilli sauce
I could swoon just talking about it.. the scallops were littlerly just seared.. warm through, with wonderful blackened lines on, but melted in the mouth, and needed no real chewing. I have never tasted such perfect scallops. The creme fraisch, and the sweet chilli worked perfectly together, giving a little flavour but not overpowering anything..

Grilled Seabass fillets with chunky chips and sugarsnap peas, with garlic aioli
The sea bass had been caught that morning, on the beahc we could see from the restaurant window. Lightly grilled, it was moist and meaty.. the chips were more like quarter potatoes, the sugar snaps lovely.. the garlic aioli had just a hint of garlic and really complemented the rest of the meal

Affogato
Nothing had grabbed me on the desert menu.. I am a chocolate lover, but felt the chocolate pot would be too rich and overpower the wonderful flavours already consumed. But Affogato was something I had never heard of, so ordered it *G*
Oh my god! It was so simple, yet so heavenly. One glass with a scoop of home made vanilla ice cream. One smaller glass with a shot of espresso. You poured the espresso over the ice cream and ate.
PERFECT! Utterly perfect!

I have a feeling we are going to like St Ives very much. Very much indeed!!

Another postcard, and maybe some pics will come tomorrow.. *grins* We're probably going to go to the Tate gallery here then.. but that might be Saturday.. we're going with the flow a little *grins*

Peace to all.. *g*
