I guess I just prefer my name. And if they don't know it, Ma'm or Miss is fine. Or maybe, "Hey hot skinny young chic!"
In the south, Ma'm is a way of showing the upmost respect. For instance, elderly women are always Ma'm. A female cop who's pulled me over? Definitely Ma'm.
Around here anyone in customer service who's even halfway trained will call you Ma'm, so I'm pretty used to it. Its when some cute young guy calls me Ma'm when the setting doesn't really require it, then I feel OLD! (Although in the right setting, that could be kind of sexy).
