I've heard Memphis is pretty rough, so to speak.
Austin is in the heart of the Texas hill country and is really a beautiful town. Very different and more liberal than most of Texas. Not a bit like Houston, thank God. Lots of spring fed swimming holes and Lake Travis, which is huge.
