I enjoy your psychoeducation posts. I read them and I think, "Yeah,....that's right,....she makes a lot of sense!" I'm sort of into that stuff right now. My therapist told me a joke the other day about recognizing projective identification. It involved a flat tire, a farm house, and needing a jack. (interesting process eh?)

If you're interested read on:
The guy on the road with the flat was stuck on the side of the road without a jack to put a spare tire on and it was very late at night. There was a farm house nearby. He thought, "Maybe I can go ask the farmer to lend me a jack, but it's so late." The guy was so afraid to wake up the farmer and ask him for a jack because he figured that the farmer would be angry at him, then he thought about what a jerk the farmer would be. So he finally knocks on the farmer's door-and it's late, the farmer doesn't know what the heck is going on, but there is this guy he's never seen before at his door yelling at him "You can take that jack and shove it up your *ss!!" So now you can't imagine that the farmer was all that happy to see him, and really not such a nice guy back.

I can't clarify what this means to me, but SOMEHOW it made some sense for me.
