Well... I think the general spirit is that they are over prescribed.

People think of them as 'happy pills'.
Feeling a bit down?
Take an anti-depressant.
Like how people take multi-vits as part of general health improvement or something.
Improvement in performance.
Still...
They aren't so physically addictive
(though I'm not so sure about effexor...)
;-)
And the drug companies make a bomb, I suppose.
Oh, and then there is the free stuff that clinician's get for prescribing particular varieties to x amount of people.

Ahhhh cynacism
(however you spell that)
Makes me feel better :-)
