The Airbus, the type of Air France aircraft that crashed at Pearson (Toronto) International, is reported as the safest airliner in the world. It will be interesting to see what the exact causes of the crash where. Planes very rarely crash in Canada, but I guess it was just a matter of time and circumstances.
