Here is my advice. I have moved .... a lot.

Mark all boxes with contents, like, "desk drawer, top" or "kitchen junk drawer" or "lamps, livingroom" or "extension cords" as well as what room they should go into. This is SO helpful.

Pack a couple of boxes only with the most necessary kitchen stuff (salt, pepper, a couple of platse, a few forks and knives, a few pots and pans, glasses, etc) and boxes with your bedding, pillows, etc. and pack those boxes in the container last so you'll be able to get them out first.

Get some green (or whatever) masking tape and use it to mark fragile boxes. It's easier to do than to write fragile on things, and I find it's easier to see, too.

Unload boxes into the room they go in. That way you pick the box up once and put it down. Make sure you either mark what it is and where it goes on all sides of the boxes or make sure that the markings are visible as you pack them in the container and when you put them down in the room they belong in.

You can often rent boxes from the big moving companies and return them when you have unpacked them.

Remember that moving is very stressful and agree with your partner that you'll try not to take your stress out on each other.

Hope some of this is helpful.
