The chihuahua, unfortunately, was one of four breeds that failed to display unique identifying genes (all others could be identified from a blind sample, after the initial analysis was done).
The other three breeds without consistent genetic markers were the perro de Presa Canario, German shorthaired pointer, and Australian shepherd.
