Not enough time anymore...

Posted by broken on May 19, 2005, at 15:03:35

My posting time here has all but disappeared, not that I posted alot anyway..

I go to the gym now... It was for 30 minutes, then an hour, and then I started to see results, that screwed me. A guy here at work said, "Are you working out? Your arms and chest are quite a bit bigger than the last time we talked." I beamed I am sure.. That reinforced my desire, and when the first female said the same thing, it sealed it. Now I enjoy working out 1 1/2 - 2hrs every evening. Amazing how when the ego is stroked a little, the motivation increases 10 fold huh? Especially comimg from someone who has always taken great pride in the fact that as long as he is pleasing himself, he isn't worried about other's opinions.
I play guitar.. I have since I was 6 and my grandfather gave me my first one. I have never been able to work with other people when I was writing music, because I couldn't make them understand what I wanted. So, I bought a digital 4 track studio set-up recently, and a nice little programable drum machine, and can finally do it all myself, without any help.

I leave home at 6 am, work till 6pm, workout, and arrive home at 8 - 8:30 pm. Play with my kids a bit before their bedtime, chat with my wife till she goes to bed around 10, then usually work on some music for a bit, hit the net for a while and it's 12 - 1am. Go to bed and do it again the next day.
Can we add hours to the day somehow? So much more that I want to do, and no time left to do it.

Anyway, I've applied for another job, and it's looking really good. It's swing shift, but, it's also 4 days on, 4 days off... Throw in some vacation time, and I'll see 12 days off in a row. So yes, I'll be working nights one set of 4, and days the next set of 4, but it should let me have more time to do things. Why am I typing this out? Eh, just sharing I guess... My Pdoc isn't thrilled, he says the swingshift will be harder on me than I think.. but I think only getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night is worse..
Wish me luck please!

Chris
