Actually that is cartlidge and has no nerves, that would be one of the least painful peircings. The only nerves associated would be in your skin, they can bleed alot sometimes because the skin in your face has many, many blood vessels. Everybody is different though, pain threshold is a personal matter. Tattoos are quite painful while your getting them, but from a talented artist the pain (and money) are no object because the outcome is desirable. Endorphins are an added plus, 4-5 hours of tattooing in a session will have your teeth chattering you can feel your bones numbing. Just when you think you can take it and you start to recover from the last rush of endorphins the needles hit another bunch of sensitive nerves, there have been sessions where I cannot remember leaving or getting home. Need a designated driver. And the pain is so elusive, if you try to think back and relive it in your mind you can't, even though you know how painful it was.
