I think there really are such things as bed bugs. At the last hostel I was at there were notices up about letting people know immediately if you suspected bedbugs or if you had a certain kind of rash.
Apparantly international students tend to bring them in via backpackers and the whole hostel had to be vacated and fumigated.
They had that once over in the other hostel.
I thought the signs were jokes - but apparantly not so.
Hmm.
