Yes, I try to help in these ways like you... but when you see that the government plans to drill for oil in the Artic, instead of putting the effort into finding alternative sources of energy; when you see so many SUVs on the road consuming resources we already don't have - plus I live in a place that is FLAT!! and these vehicles are just not necessary in our mild environment; even something as simple as seeing a cigarette butt tossed out a car window makes me feel like me taking our recycling to the local depot is not making an ounce of difference...
I should really refrain from reading the news for a while and just work on doing my little bit, and encourage others to do the same.
It's at times like these that I ever get homesick for my native land - Canada - where respect for the environment is just about bred right into the culture.
