Dr. John regrets inviting PB posters to his board

Posted by Angielala on February 1, 2005, at 22:19:00

In reply to Psych Central- a good reason not to bother, posted by Angielala on February 1, 2005, at 22:11:18

Instead of addressing the issues, Dr. John decided to put his tail between his legs and respond with this:

Well, thank you for you writing to let me know of your feelings and intentions. There's little I can say to such a message, or to the immature fight that folks from PB brought here.

I made a mistake by welcoming PB members here. I learned from my mistake. I hope you do the same. Take care.

Just for the record... I got kicked off for "slamming" someone... when actually all I did was disagree with her "advice" (or advis as she liked to type)- and I private messaged Dr. John on how to deal with such a poster- knowing that all boarders run they sites differently... I wanted to make sure I didn't rock the boat.

Dr. John... you will be sorry

> So I sent Dr. John a private message asking for his advice on how to deal with the poster that gave me horrible advice... and here's his response:
>
> I'd love to reply to you, but it seems there's a small group of individuals who seem to be engaged in some sort of game regarding PB and this community and I won't be a part of it.
>
> If you're looking for support and a helpful community of caring folks, then I hope you'll stay and continue to see if this is a good fit for your needs. However, after reading some of the comments on PB about what you and others think of this community, I suspect this is just a "test" issue for you:
>
> "Dr John's message made it very clear that rather than showing Dr Bob a professional courtesy and civility, by welcoming those who are exploring other places to gather and share information about mental health, he conducts a site where Bob bashing is not only tolerated, but endorsed."
>
> How would you respond to you if someone said such a thing about you? I suspect you don't know me personally and if you had ever met me in person, you would never assume to say such a hurtful thing. I have conducted this site (and one before it) far longer than many others, and I have no interest in 'bashing' others. I offered a welcome and get insulted for doing so. I learned my lesson, and hope others learn theirs from this unfortunate experience.

> Best regards,

>
> *** HE ASSUMES I WROTE THAT POST ON PB!
>
> So I wrote back... and let him know my thoughts on his high school ways.
>
> I am beside myself... I cannot believe he would block me and send me such a childish response.
>
> Looks like PB is a sensitive subject for him...
>
> Well, you know what, no one at PB would tell me to get off drugs. Nor would Dr. Bob act like a childish fool.
>
> My advice? If you want actual help with mental health issues, don't bother going there. If you want to be social, I'm sure it's fine... as long as you don't offend any of Dr. John's friends.
