I saw your post on someone else's thread, so I thought I would start a new one, so as not to interrupt the original poster.

I really DO think that if you are enjoying your life outside of work, but feel "zombie-like" there, you ARE bored of your job. Do you still "like" your job? Or, rather, what is it you miss about your job? What brought the fire to it? Or was it only you that brought the fire?

If it's just a matter of not being challenged enough, I suggest a visit to your boss' office. They are usually QUITE happy to hear that someone wants to learn something new (just make sure that you get some of the boring stuff re-allocated to someone else if you already are busy with "stuff" for a full day- you don't want to go from bored to burnt out! I made that mistake once...).

If it's a matter of that company/that industry just not being where you want to be anymore, start putting your feelers out for new opportunities.

You sound like you are on a very nice life path. Don't let the job part start to worry you. Even if you decide that the company, or industry, bores you now, it is ALWAYS easier to find the job you like when your gettig a steady paycheck from the boring one! Take as long as you want to pick a new job/new career.

And if it is just that you feel stagnant doing the same things day in and day out, have that talk with your boss. Another idea is to switch jobs with someone else in your company for a while. You will both still be there to answer questions for each other, but both of you would be learning. Is there anyone at work who would give it a go with you? It often brings a whole different awareness for your company by working in someone else's shoes for a bit. You won't be bored! You'll definitely be challenged.

Also, this is all extremely unsolicitated advice from someone who is just reacting to one post you wrote. The situation might be much more complex than I first thought, and I could be offering all the wrong advice. It's a "your mileage will vary" piece of advice!
