WOW, ya beat me to it! After learning today that chickens are not force fed until they pop (that would be turkeys and ducks and the popping may well be inadvertant) I hunted down my flatmates jar of marmite. The jar says it contains derivatives of 'barley, wheat, and soy' so it is vegetarian friendly and is a high source of vitamin B, as you say :-)

I shouldn't really traffic in empirical matters...

I always thought that vegemite was a kiwi thing, but was recently proven wrong when I went to Australia. It is indeed an Aussie thing. Now the pavlova, on the other hand is a Kiwi thing - no matter what any Aussie tries to tell you :-)
