I think that's a balanced perspective.
When I proposed neurology over psychiatry,
i did so mostly to stick to the clear picture
of what is going on in the brain, as trying
to "cure" or alleviate symptoms through CBT
etc., is much more difficult. Also, it
is fraught with subjective impressions,
misinterpretations, prejudices, etc.

I like the pragmatic approach for myself
because i think i have had anxiety since
very early childhood - how that got to
be or whether it is endogenous -- who knows;
but it is so ingrained, even in my breathing,
that meds are the best approach.

That is just an example.
